I Don't Have the Strength

It was just a year ago today
When I first heard someone say
'I'm sorry for your loss.'
Then I didn't realize the cost
That I'd still have to pay.

I have the strength
To bear the load
To feel the pain
To tread the road
Of life again.

I have the strength to hold my ground.
I just don't have the strength to break down.

When he died I just lost my way
Till in a dream I heard him say
I want to come back now
I just don't know how
Until you say I may.

I have the strength
To stay the rage
To now forgive
And act my age
while I still live.

I have the strength to dig six feet down
I just don't have the strength to break down.

It was just a month ago today
When I first heard someone say
We no longer have to choose
No Freedom will we lose
When we lead the way.

I have the strength
To serve the cause
To save our house
And this because

I have the strength to turn my life around
I just don't have the strength to break down.
